Power-Adapt energy monitoring solution makes energy consumption more transparent

The maintenance trade fair, to be held in Dortmund on February 19 and 20, 2025, offers visitors an insight into the broad spectrum of industrial maintenance. At Booth 4-E20 Schaeffler is using its Lifetime Solutions portfolio to showcase its comprehensive range of products, services and solutions in the areas of energy monitoring, condition monitoring, assembly and lubrication.

Identifying energy saving potential with Power-Adapt
With its Power-Adapt energy monitoring solution, Schaeffler offers comprehensive insights into the energy consumption and costs of buildings and processes, including electricity and other media. Power-Adapt offers flexibility of application and, apart from being used in new installations, can also be seamlessly integrated into existing energy management systems or combined with other solutions such as facility management systems. LoRaWAN technology transmits reliably through thick walls and over long distances, ensuring secure data transmission. The results can be viewed immediately on a user-friendly, web-based interface.

In addition to measuring electricity, gas and water consumption, environmental variables such as temperature, humidity and CO2 concentration can also be recorded by means of sensors. By monitoring base loads and peak values, Power-Adapt generates warnings that enable to react quickly to abnormal consumption. In addition, the system aggregates data from different devices to analyze the efficiency of processes and infrastructure. This information is essential for making well-founded decisions for further optimizing operational processes. This enables companies to achieve significant savings while at the same time reducing their CO2 emissions.

Smurfit Westrock significantly increases the energy efficiency of its production facilities
Smurfit Westrock, a leading global paper packaging manufacturer, has installed Power-Adapt in 20 plants, thereby significantly optimizing its energy consumption. Faced with the challenge of precisely identifying energy peaks, Smurfit Westrock was looking for a solution that not only records energy consumption in production facilities, but also continuously monitors and analyzes it. Power-Adapt has proven to be the ideal solution.

Energy efficiency was significantly increased in 20 plants within just a few months, meaning a 57% reduction in electricity consumption outside of production hours. In view of these successes, the company is planning to implement Power-Adapt in seven other plants in France in the near future.
